We use geostatistical methods to combine well data with seismic and potential fields data to provide an integrated geophysical solution. The toolbox of techniques commonly called “geostatistics” allows the integration of “hard” well log or sample data with “soft” seismic attributes or other remote sensing data. The result honors the well data exactly (unlike many other methods) and provides a solution that is considered to be optimal in a statistical sense. The bottom line is that we can integrate all of our client’s data in a rational quantitative way. Geostatistical software in our office includes ISMAP from Hampson Russell and Antero from Veritas.
